Two single New Yorkers live alone in neighbouring apartments, dreaming of love and companionship but unable to find the courage to make a real connection.
Through a collection of songs written by Stephen Sondheim, we glimpse their private lives, hopes, fantasies, frustrations and romantic yearnings. Although they never actually meet, their experiences mirror one another as they search for intimacy while protecting themselves from the risks of relationships.
Set against the backdrop of contemporary New York, Marry Me a Little explores the loneliness of being single, the desire to find someone special and the compromises we make in the hope of finding love.
A bittersweet and intimate musical about two people who want to be together — but don’t quite know how to get there.
