Struggling with the pain of losing someone he loves, he reconstructs their relationship through memories and imagined scenes. But as reality and fantasy begin to blur, can we trust the story he is telling us?

Roy’s Story, by Don Cotter, takes us on a very different journey: that of Roy, a 70-year-old gay man reflecting on a life lived through extraordinary social change. From childhood and a difficult relationship with his father, through his first experiences of love and sexuality, the criminalisation of homosexuality and the AIDS crisis, Roy looks back with humour, honesty and an unmistakable resilience.

Together, these two intimate and thought-provoking plays explore love, loss, identity, memory and the complicated business of simply getting through life.
